This is an outstanding B&B a couple miles outside of Arc-en-Barrois, well worth the extra walking off-trail for those on the Via Francigena. First, the hosts are wonderful, both in their welcoming and their cooking (dinner was magnificent; the breakfast perfect). Second, the house is stunningly beautiful. Third, the grounds and location are lovely, with livestock, horses, captive herds of Fallow Deer and Red Deer; there's a beautiful old chapel on the grounds that the hosts are restoring. The walk from the B&B to Langres on quiet country roads is easy and lovely (except for the steep climb to Langres itself.)

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this renovated old barn and I can confidently say it was one of the best lodging experiences I've ever had. The exceptional mix of new and old features was evident throughout the property, showcasing the unique character of the building while also providing modern amenities and comfort. Each bedroom was beautifully decorated and had its own shower and toilet, which added a level of convenience and privacy that I appreciated. As someone who has stayed in many hotels and houses around the world, I can honestly say that the quality of this accommodation was unparalleled, especially considering the extremely reasonable price.
