It was very comfortable, clean and in a great location. The house was beautiful with lots of quirky decor. Our room was very spacious with an added option of having breakfast privately in the room.

Less than 20 minutes’ walk from Bowness Bay, Denehurst Guest House is a traditional Lakeland stone house built in 1898.

The house was full of character and very well presented. The whole feel of the house was relaxed and comfortable with good facilities the rooms are well decorated with many lovely personal touches Especially loved the teddy on the bed. There was a good supply of toiletries in our en-suite shower and the towels and flannels were lovely and soft and pure white changed every day fantastic The tea coffee and hot chocolate was topped up every day along with biscuits and a lovely touch 2 sweets on a tray every day. Location was perfect and the neighbourhood was very quiet. What makes Denehurst exceptional is Ken and Cindy the owners who put themselves out for every guest nothing is too much trouble their knowledge of what there is to do is great and they have maps etc that they lend out as well as an umbrella if needed. Breakfast is wonderful all freshly cooked by Cindy with a great range of cereals, fruit, yoghurt as well as continental on request. Can’t fault the whole place it was a wonderful experience staying there and we will definitely go back again.

It was in a fantastic location, the bed was extremely comfortable, the hosts were both amazing, and breakfast was delicious.

Situated 12 minutes’ walk from Windermere, Hawksmoor Guest House has free Wi-Fi and plenty of off-road parking.

We had a room with a balcony overlooking a wood. The room itself was spacious and beautifully decorated. We even had a TV in the bathroom. Breakfast was delicious. Everything was spotless and nothing was too much trouble. The location was ideal with Bowness and Windermere within walking distance. Thank you Pam and her team. You were all very friendly and helpful and all done with a smile!
