Czech RepublicWe chose this guesthouse on our way from Nakatsugawa to Nagoya based on the great reviews here and we were very happy with our stay. The owners kindly drove us to and from the train station, as the guesthouse is located quite far away. They have been so welcoming and helpful, and it was a real pleasure to stay in their beautiful house. The 2 bed room is very clean and modern, stocked with many beautiful books about ceramics, art and travelling. There was a storm during our stay and it felt so cozy to stay inside with the rain hitting the ceiling! In the evening, the owner drove us to the nicest onsen facilty we have ever visited, with a choice from many hot spring pools. Even though we have only stayed for one night, it would be lovely to come back one day.

The mid-century furniture and beautiful ceramics on display made the accommodation feel very peaceful and homely. The doors opened up onto a peaceful garden with a creek running through it. First time in years that I have slept without earplugs. Good to know: you can not bathe at the guesthouse. I was a bit scared of using the Onsen at first, but ended up loving it. Its location is great, right next to the train station, and the breakfast is solid. I always like the fact that they incentivise skipping room cleaning by giving you a free drink if you don't have your room cleaned. She was warm and very welcoming and helped me greatly during my stay. We had extremely interesting and warm-hearted conversations despite my lack of Japanese and her lack of English.
