The setting was very nice, with close to all the attractions of the Mullingar area but in the countryside. The host's husband, who was filling in while she attended to family matters, was very friendly and even gave us a tour of his hurling stick manufacturing and shop. It's a gated yard, so it felt very secure, and the breakfast area had everything you needed for a little snack or a good start to the day!

It is worth increasing the accommodation in the countryside if you do not like the hustle and bustle of the big city. Supermarket and restaurants can be reached in 10 minutes in the next town. Very nice and friendly landlords and a rich kitchen equipment. Very spacious for breakfast and large rooms.

On the West bank of the River Shannon, Shannonside House is set within large, private gardens. Guests can enjoy home cooking and free parking, and Athlone's centre is a 5-minute walk away. Location to center, owners very nice. Rooms was clean and comfy

Secluded Modern Guest House ligger i Castletown Gheoghegan, 18 kilometer fra Mullingar Arts Centre og 24 kilometer fra Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre. Loved the roominess and the location. It was only 10 minutes away from a festival I attended.

I Athlone, bare 3,4 kilometer fra Athlone Castle og 3,5 kilometer fra Athlone jernbanestasjon ligger Shancurragh Lane Cottage. Quiet and away from the city. Hosts were very lenient and understanding.

I Mullingar, 7,7 kilometer fra Mullingar Arts Centre, ligger The Wild Farm Lodge, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering og en terrasse. Lovely setting in the countryside 10 mins outside Mullingar and close to lots of places to visit. Host contacted us before we arrived to explain how to get there and gain access to the property. They also recommended places to visit and to eat. Cottage had everything we needed.

I Kinnegad, 20 kilometer fra Mullingar Arts Centre, ligger Hardwood Hall or Kiltubber House, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering og en terrasse. I only stayed one night at Hardwood Hall, but it was such a lovely experience. The bed was incredibly comfy – perfect after a long day of travel. In the morning, I was treated to a delicious homemade breakfast that really hit the spot. The owner was so friendly and welcoming, genuinely eager to help with anything I needed. Even in just one night, the hospitality stood out. I’d happily come back for a longer stay next time!
