Spectacular in every way. Beds were super comfortable. Every room was so tastefully decorated. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Can’t say enough about this place!

A good location for a hassle-free holiday in Hallormsstaður, Mjóanes accommodation is a guest house surrounded by views of the lake. Elsa, the owner/host, was incredibly helpful and friendly, and provided delicious home-baked bread with butter, cheese, and an assortment of jams every morning for breakfast. When I told her that unfortunately I was gluten intolerant, she thoughtfully provided me with delicious homemade almond-flour and date cookies as an alternative! The facility was very clean and thoughtfully decorated with original pieces of art and live plants in every room. In addition to the main guesthouse, which has three guest rooms, two bathrooms, and a full kitchen, the property also includes an outdoor sauna and hot tub, and a large additional building with laundry facilities, additional showers, and a spacious recreation room with a pool table and games. There is also two self-contained modern cabins and a campground on the property. The guesthouse is surrounded by nature and just minutes from the largest national forest in Iceland and ten minutes from the famous Hengifoss waterfall. Everything about this guesthouse was above and beyond our expectations. But we will particularly remember Elsa's kindness and thoughtfulness!

Featuring river views, Hjartarstaðir Guesthouse offers accommodation with patio, around 37 km from Gufufoss. There is a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay.... Very nice place. Clean, warm, beautiful view.

40 km from Hengifoss in Egilsstadir, Finnstaðir offers accommodation with access to a hot tub and open-air bath. It was comfortable, pretty and we could see northern lights.

FANTASTIC stay, so quiet, peaceful and comfortable. Love the heated bathroom floors. Breakfast was LOVELY....The food but mostly the hosts. Had the most delightful chat with them. Everything was well appointed and wonderful. Definitely would come back and recommend to others.🫶🏼
