お宿でん吉, a property with a garden, is situated in Minami Aso, 36 km from Suizenji Park, 39 km from Kumamoto Castle, as well as 40 km from Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei. Great place to be. House and view are gorgeous. Cool audio system with karaoke.

It was -3°C when I woke up at 7:30am, so cold and I decided to go back to sleep... but when I drew the curtain and looked outside, the scenery was amazing that I immediately grabbed my coat and gloves to take some pictures outside. The room itself was spacious if you're only traveling with your partner, it would be packed if you're a group of 3 to 4. Very clean and cozy. Everyone mentioned the breakfast so we ordered it too! Self-grown vegetables, homemade jam and yogurt... even the honey was from their own beebox! So healthy and natural food... We were truly amazed.

Minshuku Hiroshimaya er 2 stjörnu gistirými í Kumamoto, 1,8 km frá Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei. Boðið er upp á verönd. The staff is super nice and offered to drive me from and back to the station. The breakfast is an amazing japanese breakfast with varying dishes from day to day. The location was very unique and I enjoyed waking up in a temple, however some might prefer being closer to the public transfer. The walk down and up is amazing though. I recommend to stay here warmly.

Featuring a garden and views of inner courtyard, ゲストハウス花縁 - kaen is a recently renovated guest house set in Aso, 37 km from Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto. I had such a wonderful stay at this guesthouse in Aso. The host is incredibly kind and welcoming—it truly felt like coming home. The house itself is a beautiful traditional Japanese home, full of warmth and charm, and everything was spotless and comfortable. I instantly felt at peace here. If I had more time, I would have loved to stay longer. I will definitely come again and hope to stay at least a few weeks next time. This place has a special, calming energy. Thank you so much for such a memorable experience!

Featuring a shared lounge, ゲストハウス上町 is located in Oguni in the Kumamoto region, 36 km from Mount Aso and 40 km from Kinrinko Lake. Affordable alternative near the rather expensive onsen villages. Very helpful landlord. Basically it's a room in a house with 4 rooms, with shared bathroom/kitchen/lounge. But very well done if you can live with that.

Kikuchi Mirai Base - 菊池みらいベース is a recently renovated guest house in Kikuchi, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. The host, which I was allowed to call Rio is super nice and welcoming. And as a young traveler he created a very safe and calm atmosphere. The hostel was super comfortable, clean and had everything I needed. Kikuchi is such a nice place with many beautiful spots around the area. I rented a bike from Rio and drove around on my first day, and I was positively overwhelmed by the beauty of the nature! I can recommend to go here!:)
