Rie was an amazing host, taking the time to show us around the town. Her passion for her town and trying to revitalise it was amazing. The room upstairs was big, and the futons were very comfortable.

The guesthouse is absolutely beautiful. It’s in a more remote location, so it’s very peaceful. The couple running たね are so very kind, and their cooking is exceptional. Breakfast was so delicious. We wish we spoke better Japanese so we could have talked more. They were such interesting people.

미나미 아소에 자리한 お宿でん吉에서는 정원, 무료 전용 주차장, 테라스 등을 이용하실 수 있습니다. 숙소는 에가오 켄코 스타디움에서 30km 거리에 있습니다. 숙소는 스이젠지 공원에서 36km, 구마모토성에서 39km, 호소카와 교부 저택에서 40km 거리에 있습니다. 이 게스트하우스에는 온수 욕조, 공용 주방, 무료 Wi-Fi 등이 구비되어 있습니다. 4월 중순 70대 부모님과 부부, 총 4명이 방문했는데 모든게 완벽했습니다. 가족단위로 여행하는 분들, 아름다운 아소산 지역에서 여유를 즐기며 일본 전통 가옥을 경험해보고 싶은 분들이라면 꼭 이곳에 묵을 것을 추천합니다. 1/ 위 아래로 여러개의 침실, 3개의 화장실이 있어서 두 커플 이상이 와도 불편함 없이 묵을 수 있습니다. 2/ 침실, 거실에서 완벽한 아소산 뷰를 즐길 수 있습니다. 3/ 다다미 냄새가 너무 좋았고 욕실은 1개이지만 직접 불을 때서 욕탕 물을 뎁혀주셔서 온천여관 못지 않았습니다. 4/ 완벽한 주방이 있어서 10분 거리 대형마트에서 장을 봐오면 작은 파티를 할 수 있습니다. 좌식이 아닌 다이닝 테이블이 있는 것도 매우 편했습니다. 5/ 세탁기, 완벽한 주차장, 도로에서 멀지 않은 위치 등등 시설, 위치면에서 불편함이 전혀 없고 침구를 비롯 모든물품과 시설의 청결함이 완벽합니다. 6/ 숙소는 좋지만 룰이 지나치게 까다로운 숙소도 많은데 이곳은 호스트분들이 너무 친절하셔서 마음까지 편하게 휴식을 누릴 수 있었습니다.

미나미 아소에 자리한 Wakka에서는 차량으로 오는 투숙객을 위한 무료 전용 주차장뿐 아니라 정원, 무료 Wi-Fi도 제공합니다. 숙소는 에가오 켄코 스타디움에서 31km, 스이젠지 공원에서 37km 거리에 있습니다. 숙소는 호소카와 교부 저택에서 약 42km, 아소산에서 18km, KK 윙에서 31km 거리에 있습니다. The home made breakfast taste so good, in Japanese-western style, with homemade jam and honey. The room is clean and comfortable, all equipment are very new and tidy. There is basic kitchen equipment, microwave and small oven which can do some easy cooking. Love the wooden bathroom and toilet, the pleasant natural smell. The room is right facing Mt. Aso. The scenery inside and outside the room is amazing, like a picture. The owners are very nice and helpful.

The location and owners make this homestay special. The latter is at the foot of a historic and important Buddhist shrine and resting place of Kato Kiyomasa, builder of the Kumamoto Castle, while the former are generations-old family of soba makers. While breakfast didn't come with soba, it was one of the best I've eaten in Japan. The space is comfortable, traditional and has everything you may need, including excellent views of the city.

구마모토에 자리한 Dyeing and Hostel Nakashimaya - Female Only에서는 테라스 등을 제공합니다. 숙소는 구마모토성에서 1.7km, 호소카와 교부 저택에서 1.9km 거리에 있습니다. 이 1성급 게스트하우스에서는 에어컨, 공용 욕실이 완비된 객실과 공용 라운지 등을 제공합니다. This hostel is for women only and is super well located, a few cafes and kissaten around and only a 10-15mn walk to the main touristic places (Kumamoto castle etc.). It was super clean, 2 shower rooms and 2 toilets, the futons were thick and super comfortable, and the lady running it was so nice. She also speaks English. Towels can be bought there for ¥200-500 depending on the size as well as toothbrushes. Also provides shampoo and body wash. The room was well heated and we had a great sleep. 100% recommend. We didn’t use it but there’s also a kitchen and a coffee corner.

아소에 자리한 ゲストハウス花縁 - kaen에서는 정원, 무료 전용 주차장, 공용 라운지 등을 이용하실 수 있습니다. 숙소는 에가오 켄코 스타디움에서 37km 거리에 있습니다. 숙소는 구마모토성에서 약 46km, 스이젠지 공원에서 46km, 호소카와 교부 저택에서 47km 거리에 있습니다. I had such a wonderful stay at this guesthouse in Aso. The host is incredibly kind and welcoming—it truly felt like coming home. The house itself is a beautiful traditional Japanese home, full of warmth and charm, and everything was spotless and comfortable. I instantly felt at peace here. If I had more time, I would have loved to stay longer. I will definitely come again and hope to stay at least a few weeks next time. This place has a special, calming energy. Thank you so much for such a memorable experience!

Oguni에 자리한 ゲストハウス上町에서는 차량으로 오는 투숙객을 위한 무료 전용 주차장뿐 아니라 공용 라운지, 무료 Wi-Fi도 제공합니다. 숙소는 아소산에서 36km, 긴린코 호수에서 40km 거리에 있습니다. Affordable alternative near the rather expensive onsen villages. Very helpful landlord. Basically it's a room in a house with 4 rooms, with shared bathroom/kitchen/lounge. But very well done if you can live with that.

키쿠치에 자리한 Kikuchi Mirai Base - 菊池みらいベース에서는 정원, 무료 전용 주차장, 공용 라운지, 테라스 등을 이용하실 수 있습니다. 숙소는 에가오 켄코 스타디움에서 20km 거리에 있습니다. 숙소는 히라야마 온천에서 약 20km, 구마모토성에서 24km, 호소카와 교부 저택에서 25km 거리에 있습니다. The host, which I was allowed to call Rio is super nice and welcoming. And as a young traveler he created a very safe and calm atmosphere. The hostel was super comfortable, clean and had everything I needed. Kikuchi is such a nice place with many beautiful spots around the area. I rented a bike from Rio and drove around on my first day, and I was positively overwhelmed by the beauty of the nature! I can recommend to go here!:)
