GOKAYAMA BASE er staðsett í Nanto, 44 km frá Kanazawa-kastala og býður upp á fjallaútsýni, ókeypis WiFi og ókeypis einkabílastæði. The guesthouse was a perfect launch point for seeing the historic sites in the area, and the host was incredibly helpful and courteous. It was remote, but felt like a luxury ski cabin in the woods.

Guesthouse Iwase er staðsett í Toyama, 2,2 km frá Toyama-kō og 14 km frá Toyama-fjölskyldugarðinum. Super nice host who gave us suggestions for food nearby and even two free tickets for the local tram as a present:)

Guest House Takazuri-KITA er staðsett í Nanto og í aðeins 48 km fjarlægð frá Kanazawa-kastala en það býður upp á gistirými með fjallaútsýni, ókeypis WiFi og ókeypis einkabílastæði. Kota and Kanako were excellent hosts and super friendly. They have a toddler full of life who will make your day bright. The facilities are impeccable. The location is excellent for exploring the area by foot or by car. Central to two of the main UNESCO Heritage Sites, Suganuma and Ainokura villages! The food was healthy and delicious and they used a lot of their own produce. The lounge is also a great place to relax after a day of exploring. Highly recommend.

Ókeypis WiFi er til staðar. Guest House YAMASHITA-YA býður upp á gistirými í Nanto, 30 km frá Kanazawa. Ókeypis einkabílastæði eru í boði á staðnum. Satoe-san was very warm and welcoming. She made us breakfast upon request (need to order 3 days before the stay). Food is delicious, especially the firm Gokayama tofu and original dip she made! The location is perfect if you are coming from Shirakawago like us. It is in Gokayama which is also a heritage site. They have gassho houses that are equally beautiful and not as crowded as Shirakawago. We felt at home at Guest House Yamashita-ya. Hope we get a chance to stay again!

Such an incredible place to stay - most people come to visit the Gassho villages on day trips but being able to do a homestay in the village itself was amazing and a truly unique experience. Our hosts were such a lovely couple, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and tell us about their lives and experiences in the village. Even though we don't know Japanese, our hosts managed to tell us about food, music and the way of life in the village. We're both vegetarian and they went out of their way to make us a delicious meal out of local produce.

Kairyu Marine park Guest house 海竜マリンパークゲストハウス #HH9 is located in Horioka, 12 km from Toyama-kō, 13 km from Toyama Station, as well as 11 km from Toyama Family Park.

Guesthouse泉屋, a property with a terrace, is situated in Himi, 31 km from Toyama Station, 35 km from Toyama-kō, as well as 47 km from Notojima Glass Art Museum. Host was super nice and friendly

古民家柚子季, a property with a garden, is situated in Tonami, 41 km from Kanazawa Castle, 41 km from Kenrokuen Garden, as well as 31 km from Toyama Station. The place is really great, the combination of old japanese home vibe and futuristic facilities. We got free delicious handmade ice-cream. Love the yogibo❤️

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony, ゲストハウス山吹 is set in Toyama. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Beautiful little house, very spacious for two people and good value. Our host Mizuho was extremely helpful with information, leaving us little surprise snacks and even driving us to Toyama station when we checked out. The house is 15-20 minutes way from the main cbd/Toyama Station, so you need to get a local bus if you don’t have a car. But there are helpful instructions at the property, and we found it a bit of an adventure to catch the bus. Also you get lovely views of the mountains when walking in the neighbourhood, which you don’t get in the cbd. Also recommend the Yakatori restaurant near the house. Cosy vibe and delicious food.

Offering a garden and quiet street view, 民家ホテル「金ノ三寸」(かねのさんずん） is situated in Takaoka, 47 km from Kanazawa Castle and 47 km from Kenrokuen Garden. Moto was very helpful in booking cars and dinners for us. Wonderful location. Quiet street.
