J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse asub Hongus, Kumano Hongu Taisha Suurest pühamust 10-minutilise autosõidu või 70-minutilise jalutuskäigu kaugusel Kumano Kodo palverännaku teel. Good facilities, small store in the hostel for some food. Delivery of bento boxes for dinner was a good extra! Very nice private onsen!

Aiaga NONAGASE GUEST HOUSE asub Chikatsuyus, 300 meetri kaugusel Kumanokodo Nakahechi kunstimuuseumist, 29 km kaugusel Kamitonda kontserdimajast ja 31 km kaugusel Hosshinmon Oji pühamust. Everything! Nonagase is right in Chilatsuyu so after a long day of hiking on the Kumano Kodo, you will be happy to walk right to your beautiful and historic guest house. Hitomi, Hiroki and Omri are outstanding hosts, making sure your every need is covered … and the meals are superb! We could not have chosen better. Hiroki also helped us arrange our luggage transfer, lunch for our hike, and helped us with other hiking details. Thank you all for a lovely stay !

簡易宿所 ふくろく is located in Shingu, less than 1 km from Kamikura Shrine, a 13-minute walk from Shingu Castle Ruins Park, as well as 1.4 km from Kumano Hayatama Taisha. the room was really comfy and cozy with basic amenities provided for you. the owner of the guesthouse was really friendly and helpful during the stay. do mind that she has to run a small shop selling Japanese snacks while having other heavy responsibilities. do support her.

Located in Shingu, 400 metres from Kamikura Shrine, 長徳寺宿坊 Temple Hotel has a garden, private parking and rooms with free WiFi access. Our stay at Temple Hotel was unforgettable, blending smooth check-in with authentic Japanese hospitality. The kind monk welcomed us with a tour of his family’s temple grounds, shared local dining tips (his izakaya recommendation was excellent), and generously offered complimentary sake, shochu, and beer, complete with a gas stove for warming drinks. He even guided us in setting up our futon beds. The temple opened at 6am, and we were invited to join his 7am prayer service and participate in rituals like sutra copying. Before we left, he gifted us a meaningful Wagen Aigo souvenir and sent us off with blessings. This stay was a genuine experience of Japanese culture—highly recommended.

200 metres from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, 民宿 和合 Minshuku WAGO is a recently renovated property set in Tanabe and offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Fantastic stay on the Kumano. Ike was an amazing host and all our meals were fantastic

AJITO Hostel & CafeBar asub Shingus, kõigest 500 meetri kaugusel Shingu lossi varemetest. Kohapeal on tasuta jalgrattad, baar ja terve päeva valve. what a great little place. If you have a small group, the 4 ppl room on the 3rd floor is perfect. The place has lots of great info in multiple languages and the affiliated izakaya was the perfect place to go for dinner.

Set within 1.4 km of Nachi Beach and 1.1 km of Nachikatsuura Sports and Cultural Center, 自由自屋 offers rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Nachikatsuura. Very close to station, clean, tidy room with everything needed. Recently renovated, big comfortable room. Great value for money

Tasuta WiFi-ühenduse ja konditsioneeriga Guest House Takiyoshi asub Hongus, 14 km kaugusel Hosshinmon Oji pühamust ja 21 km kaugusel Kumanokodo Nakahechi kunstimuuseumist. Sublime, clean property. The meals (dinner and breakfast) were delicious and great after a day of hiking the Kumano Kodo

Surf Imin G-Sun asub Wakayamas Kasai pargi lähedal. Kohapeal on tasuta WiFi-ühendus, tasuta eraparkla ja saun. Host was a legend! We went surfing together and he was so willing to help out!

ゲストハウス三軒家, a property with a garden and a shared lounge, is set in Shirahama, less than 1 km from Ezura Beach, a 14-minute walk from Shirahama Art Museum, as well as 2.9 km from Kishu Museum of Art. Staying at Sangenya Guesthouse was one of our best experiences in Japan. The property itself is beautiful, clean and traditional. Of course, the town of Shirahama was also beautiful and having access to the beach within walking distance made it such a great location. We spent some wonderful days at the beach! Unfortunately, one of the days there was a typhoon - however our incredible hosts were so lovely and generous that it was actually a positive experience even when the weather outside was torrential. This trip marked the end of a year in Japan and even as we packed up our things to leave, we were talking about how we wanted to come back to the guesthouse in the future because the property and hosts were so wonderful. We also had some drinks at the property’s café, and both the hojicha and matcha were the best ones we’d tried in Japan!  We absolutely recommend the Sangenya Guesthouse!
