Owner had connections with others who could help with boat transfers to airport, town tours, boat race viewing etc

It's also very clean. If you are looking for air conditioning and hot water, this is not the place but honestly I didn't need them during my staying. I advice this place for solo travellers. The place is very central. You find everything you need, from historical places to markets and restaurants. Joshua, the owner of the place is a very kind person, always available and committed to improve your staying.

Such an amazing host. He upgraded my room with no extra cost, and gave me a free tour of Lamu old town. He was also helpful during my stay for any inquiries.

The place had a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the accommodations were very comfortable. It truly felt like a home away from home.

Our stay on Manda’s side at Mangrove House was truly wonderful. The location is unmatched, the peace and quiet are absolute. The staff is wonderful and so is the owner, super attentive and ready to help and share. The house is right in front of Shela and Peponi hotel, just a short boat trip away. Would absolutely go back, and recommend it to everyone going to Lamu!
