The owner was very helpful with arranging a bike rental and safari tour as well as onward transportation. The guesthouse itself is very pleasant.

New Haven Polonnaruwa has been, by far, the best guesthouse I've been in my whole trip. The place is brand new, extremely comfortable and clean. It is also decorated with good taste. The exterior area, still under construction, is spaceous, and has a lot of possibilities. It has a traditional kitchen built in clay, and an area to have breakfast/lunch/dinner very cozy and nice. Congratulations to the chef! Food is so good! The owner, Iran, puts a lot of love on the project. Also he has shown me his amazing paddy field, we've collected coconuts together and do not worry if the place doesn't have a swimming pool (yet), because he took me to a canal for a nice swim very near from the place.

The guesthouse is close to the main sites. Ravi makes delicious breakfast with lots of fresh fruits. He even made us a takeaway breakfast when we had to leave early for elephant safari. Ravi organized bikes for us to use to see the ruins. He also set up an elephant safari with an excellent guide, Shiron. He was knowledgeable and showed us some incredible birds. He had a knack for getting us in the right spots for elephant viewing and was respectful to give the elephants space. Highly recommend a trip with him. We also recommend the morning trip as he said in the afternoons sometimes there are 200 jeeps!

We had a wonderful stay. Great for couples and families. Pleasant rooms which was clean and well maintained. Good value for money. And the place is also very convenient. Very close to the Polonnaruwa city, Parakrama Samudra and ancient city as well. And very peaceful environment. The host is very kind and helpful. We had a delicious welcome drink as well(fresh fruit juice). All the rooms consists of TV, A/C and a modern bathroom with hot water and all the amenities. Overall I'm very happy with the stay. Thanks for the host. We'll definitely visit again.

The family is incredibly welcoming, from the parents to the son, that is helping from time to time. The rooms are nice and clean, the bed comfortable and you can rent a bike there to go visit the city (although a bit old they work well). The breakfast was very good. Our only regret was spending only one night here and continue our chat with the son and father. Thank you for the hospitality and the ride to the bus station!

The hosts were most accommodating and friendly. Food was fantastic although a little high in price, however the convenience of being served at the house was nice! Rooms are upgraded

The host was extraordinarily friendly and understanding. The view from the balcony looking over the lake was mesmerizing. The breakfast was truly amazing with multiple different options to choose from. If you are looking for a place to stay in Polonnaruwa, we can definitely recommend Lake Cabin!
