The Mango guest house was an incredible and authentic experience in Elephantine Island. The staff, the facilities and the settings were fantastic. The staff arranged everything what we asked for: a car from Luxor, a trip to Abu Simbel, food delivery and a felucca sailing trip. It’s not for everybody, though. If you’re a 5-star hotel frequent visitor, this is not for you.

The host and his family are really helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and the beds soft. Would recommend it to anyone going to Aswan!

King Mina Nubian House está ubicado en Asuán, a 17 km de Aswan High Dam y a 24 km de Tombs of the Nobles. The airport pickup service took us to the Nile where we boarded a private boat to the hotel as it was on Elephantine Island. I was in communication with them via WhatsApp before we arrived and they answered all my questions. Mohamed and Baki carried our 4 suitcases from the boat a short walk to the hotel and after we went to our room greeted us on the rooftop patio with hibiscus drinks. They were very friendly. The island was an unexpected surprise and although the dirt walking paths seemed odd we realized that we were in a real Nubian village. They have their own language and the island has a maze of walking paths. We used google maps to find the Aswan Museum which was a very large archeological site with great views of the Aga Khan Tomb across the Nile. We passed old woman dressed in black knitting traditional hats and had small children follow us around. After the museum we stopped at a shop and were invited into a family sitting area as we drank 3 soft drinks we ordered. Mohammed the store owner was so friendly. If you want a real Nubian Experience that really adds to your trips enjoyment I recommend King Mena. We only stayed one night as we came a day early for our Aswan to Luxor cruise and their boat even took us right to our cruise ship and helped us find it among the 20 odd ships docked 4 deep on the shore of the Nile. I recommend King Mena for the experience. The room was a triple as needed 3 beds and the bathroom was large and the water hot and Mohammed the chef proudly made a great breakfast.

FADL Kato está ubicado en Asuán, a 22 km de Mausoleo de Aga Khan y a a menos de 1 km de Nubian Museum. El alojamiento ofrece habitaciones con aire acondicionado y baño privado. La ubicación esta a 3 minutos caminando del puerto, lo que facilita el traslado, sobretodo si tienes maletas, es muy limpio, el personal que atiende amable y atento a los requerimientos. Muy limpio y espacioso, y lo mejor las vistas al Nilo.

ABU Guest House está ubicado en Asuán, a 23 km de Mausoleo de Aga Khan y a 600 metros de Nubian Museum. Ofrece alojamiento con un jardín, una terraza y wifi gratis en todo el alojamiento. Walking distance there’s Jamaica king restaurant in the island was super nice vibes, also here you can take a boat 10 pound to the city side, the Nubian musieum very close by, the famous sofiel hotel very close by.

Everything was perfect, the location just a minute away the public ferry, the incredible terrace with breathtaking view over the Nile, spotless clean big room, etc. There was even a sandstorm the night before and when we arrived you couldn't see a grain of sand. Best of all is Mohammed, the owner, who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had all we need. He arrange for someone to come and pick up my heavy suitcase as I was traveling alone with children, organized a really nice captain to visit the Nubian village, etc. Would come back in a heartbeat.
