This guesthouse is truly a gem, Brian makes sure you have an amazing stay! You can tell he really cares about his guests. The room and bathroom are very clean and comfortable. The food is incredible too (plenty of vegan and vegetarian options)! I did a 2 night jungle trek with them as well and everything was very well organised, great food and fruit on the trek, comfortable campsites by the river and close to a waterfall. You could tell that the guide really enjoyed being in nature, he had so much knowledge about the animals and plants and made us feel really safe. I got a bee sting and he had magic oil that made the sting disappear in just 30 min! I had a really great stay and trek with Brian and his team and definitely recommend them and would definitely come back one day! :)

JUNGLE LIFE GUEST HOUSE - Trekking & Transport Only Book With Us is set in Bukit Lawang and has a pool with a view and river views. Alek, the owner, is very available to help us to find the best guide to do a trek in the jungle during 3days to see Orangs outang and other monkeys. He helps us to do laundry, find a taxi to arrive and to leave Bukit Lawang. We visited the bat cave, the market on Friday and the recycling factory near the homestay. The room was comfortable, the bed was very big and comfortable too, with a mosquito net. You can swim every day in the river just in front of the guesthouse with a lot of local kids. There is a restaurant in the homestay or around. You can ask what you need to Alek, he knows every body in Bukit Lawang;-) Thank you Alek for your welcoming.

Best place ever to chill and feel part of the jungle. I did not want to leave. The food is incredible and all the team are so friendly. Recommend to book your jungle trek also, we did 2 days which was perfect. Amazing experience and amazing spot. Thank you :)

Situated in Bukit Lawang, Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys features accommodation with seating area. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. What a pleasure it was to stay at Cheeky Monkeys! Everyone here was so friendly and so kind, and with its lovely setting overlooking the river, you’re really in a world apart. I only did the 3-hour jungle trek, but saw the orangutans and Thomas leaf monkeys. My guide, Bambang, was not only a wealth of knowledge, he patiently told me where to place each foot while winding up and down and through jungle roots, vines, and muddy patches. Such a nice man! The transfers from Medan and back to the airport were flawless and the drivers excellent. As for the accommodations at Cheeky, descriptions here are accurate. Food was good, the impromptu guitar after dinner was fun, and the WiFi connection in my room was much better than I expected. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back in the future.

A recently renovated guest house situated in Bukit Lawang, Kupu Kupu Garden Guest House & Cafe features a garden. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony. Beautiful place in the jungle! We stayed here before and after our jungle hike and if was lovely! They had great breakfast and a delicious family style dinner in the communal area which we loved.
