Once a 15th-century Franciscan monastery, Chiostro Delle Monache is just outside Volterra's Etruscan walls, next to the Presidio Ospedaliero Santa Maria Maddalena hospital.

Hotel was easy to find, despite being over a kilometre from where we got dropped off.
The food was excellent, especially on our first night.
The staff were very friendly and always willing to help.
There were lots of local bus stops around within a stones throw of the hotel.
The hotel was lovely, it was great to stay in a historic monastery.

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

My family and I loved this place, great location between Volterra and San Gimignano, quiet area (as expected), great staff and restaurant, highly highly suggested

Despite us being late arrival (late ferry), the lady on reception was so friendly and helpful. The room was delightful, large, with a small balcony overlooking the hills and the swimming pool. We really enjoyed the location, being near to the old town.
We had reserved a parking space which was easy to find and covered, safe.
The room had everything needed, the bed comfortable.
The breakfast was included and was good.
The place was made by the friendliness and helpfulness of the receptionist.

The apartment was so comfortable and clean and in such a great location. Fabulous views too. Really close to the centre of Volterra. Marta was the perfect host. She was super helpful and kind. We were left a gift when we arrived and everything was perfect.

Exceptionally helpful and welcoming staff. Our bicycles were safely stored in the Bar. I think that couldn't happen if they were busy, but it was very accommodating of them. Our room was a bit small, but we knew that because it was one of the cheaper rooms. The location is right in the centre of Volterra with lots of places to eat nearby. The breakfast (€15 each) was outstanding with both savoury and sweet offers. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
