The reading room is an excellent spot to unwind, offering a peaceful atmosphere that I appreciated after a day of sightseeing. Cleanliness is clearly a priority here, as the toilets and common areas were spotless. The addition of pool tables was a fun touch and a great way to socialize with fellow travelers. Breakfast was another highlight – hearty and delicious, perfect for fueling up for the day. Plus, having tea and coffee available 24/7 was a thoughtful perk. Guests at HI Lake Louise Alpine Centre can relax in the common room with a fireplace. A small library is available for guests to choose from. I arrived early and my room wasn't ready, however guys at the reception made sure it could have priority cleaning. I was so tired and I have so appreciated it! service makes a massive difference to me!

The location of the hostel is exceptional: very secluded in the woods, on a fairly steep slope of SW exposure, lots of sunshine day time (even in winter :-), beautiful view from the deck towards Three Sisters. Main lodge and the cabins are built in classic alpine style. The place is far enough from the hwy not to hear it but close enough to downtown Canmore (5 min or so). The interior of the main lodge is very cozy and stylish (wood), too; the common use rooms are nicely decorated, etc. The staff is very welcoming and helpful.

All rooms at the hostel are fitted with a shared bathroom and bed linen. Perfect spot to rest . We enjoyed the suggestion to refresh at the stream or walk uo the hill behind or relax by the fire . We enjoyed hearing fellow travelers adventures . Since we were mostly tent camping but all sites were full on the weekend we had our own pillow , sheet and sleeping bag but those are offered nice and clean for weary travelers.
