The play area outside and activities were so good for the kids and the views from the lodge are just very special. You won't regret going up and staying virtually on your own. Service by the staff were super nice and friendly and the place is first class.

Featuring a shared lounge, Hostel Engelberg "mein Trail Hostel" is set in Engelberg in the Obwalden region, 1.3 km from Titlis Rotair Cable Car and 36 km from Lucerne Station. Very friendly family that runs the hotel/hostel. Because it was still low season we got a free upgrade to a better room which is always a nice surprise. The room was very comfortable and the location is fantastic. There is also a lovely little common area where you can watch TV and enjoy a free selection of teas.

Located in Engelberg, 500 metres from the Titlis Rotair Cable Car, Engelberg Youth Hostel features a buffet restaurant and a summer terrace. Great stay, helpful staff, they let me stay by myself in a dorm and gave me an early check-in, breakfast was also very good. Less than 10mon walk to the cable car and 5 minutes to the train station. Would definitely come back!

Located right on the shore of the scenic Eugenisee Lake, Pension St. Jakob is 800 metres from the centre of Engelberg and a 5-minute walk from the Engelberg Cable Car. Close walk to rentals and skiing. check in is next door, which took us a few min to figure out, but very good value for money overall. Great breakfast.

Located in Lungern, 12 km from Giessbachfälle, Kunst- und Naturfreundehaus Brünig provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. It was like a cabin in the woods. Peaceful and quiet, surrounded by nature. The staff were so friendly and the whole concept was so natural. It did not seem like a hotel/hostel, and more like a guesthouse. Really loved the vibes of the place. Definitely recommend it if you are looking for a getaway in nature away from the busy towns
