Solo traveler; the Masaya team does a great job w activities, chill music, places to be solo and place to be w others, communal later dinners, and just very cheerful folks who take care of the lodge, the food, and the folks to a recognizable degree. Very helpful with the host but also with people around town. We did a charity event for feed the poor around Santa Marta organised by the hostel is was just amazing. I just recommend this place for anyone.

Featuring a garden, a shared lounge as well as a terrace, Sana Mar Hostel & Eco-Café is located in the centre of Santa Marta, 700 metres from Bahía de Santa Marta Beach. We were only supposed to stay one night, ended up staying longer, and then came back here like to our family. It is home away from home in Santa Marta. The staff are wonderful. The places are people, and this place is special because of the people who treat you like a family member from the very beginning. They give you a smile, help, advice, care and delicious breakfasts and dinners (every day something new prepared by the lovely, always smiling Natalie). We said we work remotely, so they offered us the chance to work on the terrace upstairs or in the common area, finally they gave us room with the desk, but we actually worked really well in the common area, especially because of the great atmosphere. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hostel itself is in a great location – close to the beach, but also to the place where buses to Tayrona and Minca leave, and close to the bus stop where local buses to the airport leave. I hope that one day we will come back here, and Justin – the owner – will realise his beautiful plans. The world needs people like him. Sana Mar is a wonderful place, and we support this project with all our hearts 🥰

Don't hesitate, book this new hostel! Dont let the hike up, scare you. It's possible to walk up/ down or you can take a moto taxi. It’s just part of the experience! And the views are so worth it! The hostel is very clean, spacious and has amazing sunsets. They are so kind and speak fluent spanish and english. In the morning you can get a delicious breakfast for a day full a walks to beautiful waterfalls nearby. And in the evening you can also enjoy a great meal at their restaurant, so after the sunset you don't need to hike down to Minca. Thank you for the amazing experience!

Located in Minca, 33 km from Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, Mano Verde Minca provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Location, staff, the wooden house, the dorms, the excellent food and joint meals (also vegetarian alternative): everything of highest standard. Valentin and his team (including the two dogs) are wonderful and the place is in the middle of nature/wildlife: hikes are varied and you can watch/hear many birds and see beautiful sunsets. The 40 minute ride by mototaxi to the hostel is great, a little adventure included. I will definitely come back, but then stay longer!

Imagine Hostel and staff are wonderful. The hostel is very clean, quiet, and convenient. the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The fan and air conditioning in the room made it very comfortable. We highly recommend staying here.

Rey and Yeimiz the couple running this place are absolute divine souls. Their positiv attitude and deep gratefulness for the living experience are truly inspiring. The energy of this place is just magic. Rey offers Shiatsu and other bodywork therapies. The location is right at the beach with this part of the town being a perfect mix between something happening and still being super relaxed and quiet. I felt like part of the family and town after just a few days <3

Cacao Hostel Santa Marta has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and bar in Santa Marta. Loved this hostel! It was so comfortable, clean, really well run, the pool and bar area was beautiful, and the whole staff made us feel welcome and attended to. Alicia, in particular, welcomed us warmly and gave us a really nice orientation to the hostel and the surrounding area. Definitely recommend!
