Staff is nice, organizes surf, spearfishing and island-hopping trips. There is an on-site café where you can get breakfast (included in the stay). They also have quite a few surfboards for rent. Room is simple, bu It has all you need, bed is comfy, you can get free coffee/tea all day. I only stayed a night, but I wish to have stayed longer. You can see Telescopes breaking from far(but in front of the accommodation), to reach it is a short boat ride away. Had probably the best surf session of my life there :) Thanks and see you next time!

I had a fantastic stay at Salty Dog Hostel- my only regret was I couldn't stay longer!. Arif, Axel and the whole family create a really nice family vibe in the hostel and will always go out of their way to make sure you get the most from your stay on this beautiful island. The dorm I stayed in was basic, but had everything you needed- privacy curtain , Aircon and an attached bathroom. The hostel hires out both scooters and surfboards for cheap ( even more so if you take over a week ) and is only a 20 min drive away from the best surfing spots in the South. The host was super friendly and helped arrange an amazing trekking tour with a great guide. Also very helpful with transport — picked me up and brought me to the bus station. I can recommend!

The staff really care about you and that you have a great time. You are greated by Hadra at the Padang airport. He helps you handle all the logistics like purchasing ferry tickets, finding medicines and food supplies. He drops you off at the ferry and then Teddy picks you up in Siberut. Teddy and his staff are wonderful. They highly prioritize you above everything else. They are very attentive to your requests and help accommodate whatever they can within their means. The food is outstanding. I ate delicious for a week. The vibe is very friendly. You are always greated with a good morning by everyone. There is absolutely no question that I will stay here again when I return to Mentawai. Masura Bagata Teddy, Ferdy, Renaldi, Harda and the cook. I hope to see you again next year.
