Situated in Oamaru, 35 km from Moeraki Boulders, Old Bones Lodge features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. The views from the common room were amazing and the fire place created a comfy atmosphere. My only regret is that we did not stay an extra night. Hope to be back one day!

Featuring a terrace, The Brownston Hostel is set in Wanaka in the Otago region, 2.4 km from Puzzling World and 1.9 km from The Wanaka Tree. I loved my stay at Wanaka. The Hostel is super nice. The kitchen is big and it's actually the better area to chill out then the chill out room haha. It has a TV room as well and just over all great. The location is excelent right next to a really good coffee shop and the lake is close by. The beds are really comfortable. And also you get a towel for the shower (really appreciated that).

Tahuna Pod Hostel is located in the heart of Queenstown and features and a large balcony area with stunning views over the city. Limited on-site car parking is available for a fee. The bed was super comfortable. There's a privacy curtain. Free parking. Staff was cool. Everything about it was good.

Located on the lakefront in the centre of Queenstown, Absoloot Hostel Queenstown offers rooms with private bathrooms. Guests enjoy free unlimited Wi-Fi access in their rooms. Nice place to stay, close to the stores and a nice view from the lake.

Set in Wanaka, 2.3 km from Puzzling World, Adventure Wanaka Hostel offers air-conditioned rooms and a garden. Offering barbecue facilities, the property is located within 1.9 km of The Wanaka Tree. Location, Staff Very short walk to the lake so very easy to get to intercity bus stop, ice cream shop, supermarket, souvenir shops, bike rental, great Italian restaurant, Francesca's, etc. Staff are super friendly. A girl introduced me a really beautiful island called Mou Waho and I really enjoyed it. She also shared bike routes based on my ability and time. Adventure Wanaka offers free bike to certain route. If we want to bike far/beyond certain points, hostel also offers discount card for us to rent in another professional bike shop. Really appreciate it.

Well situated in the Dunedin City Centre district of Dunedin, UpTown Backpackers is set 700 metres from Toitu Otago Settlers Museum, 1.1 km from Otago Museum and 2 km from Forsyth Barr Stadium. Mr Ben, the owner, was the best hostel owner I’ve ever met in NZ! His staff were amazing, too - Matty & Micah, Carmen, Isis, Ai, & 1 more nice guy - they were like my family for my entire 7-day stay! My 8-bed dorm room was very spacious, love the new pine bunks, lounge area & kitchen/dining area also were very spacious! Location was perfect, smack dab in downtown, 5-minute walk to the InterCity bus & local bus stations & Countdown grocery, 1-minute to the main shopping/dining/cafe street, library is across the street, town center is a 2-minute walk! The staff does the laundry for you for a fee. The best part, I was there for the week of Christmas and the owner, Mr Ben, provided & baked a ham & chickens and they were the best baked ham & chickens I’ve ever had - perfectly seasoned, plump, juicy, & sooo tender! He even provided the wines & beers!!! About 1/2 the hostel guests & I participated in cooking/making the side dishes & desserts!!! He even reserved the TV for a group movie time on Christmas Eve & provided popcorns!!!! you rock, Mr. Ben!!! even made signs for the free soups I made for everyone from the leftover chicken & ham bones & meat scraps for soup bases!!! It was the best Christmas ever away from home!!! Thanks a million, Mr Ben & your amazing staff for the best hostel & staff in my 7-wk stay in NZ!!!! Isis, thanks a million for helping me carry my luggages down the stairs!!!

Very nice spot in Dunedin, especially our room, bathroom included, shared well equipped kitchen and nice lounge overlooking the city and bit of the harbour. Situated in a rather old historic Villa, there are plenty of rooms, ours war exeptionally nice. For our arrival there was good communication and the location allows you to get to the city (Octagon) fast as well as to the botanical garden and also Moana pool. You'll sleep quietly above the city center. Plenty to do and visit like the beaches, peninsula (Penguins, Albatrosses, beaches and Larnach castle) and in Dunedin itself oldest Botanical Garden in NZ and the steepest street. Don't miss the farmers market on saturday b4 noon - Otago products! (all/better infos at visitor center)

Set in Wanaka, 2.2 km from Puzzling World, Mountain View Backpackers offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities. It’s well maintained and so cosy with a nice kitchen and living room area along with the garden! It was close to the town center and parking was plenty on the street. Plus, I met great people there! Such a nice atmosphere that you can expect ever!
