They live in a beautiful little village in the hills. Some lovely young people from the area went for a walk with us. Auxi cooked tasty food for us. We enjoyed the beautiful garden.

Bodhi Hostel & Lounge is located in El Valle and features free WiFi access in all areas, a garden and barbecue facilities. Free parking is available. Bodhi hostel is at a great location in Valle. It is just the perfect stay for 2 or 3 nights if you want to explore all the hikes that are around this beautiful town in the middle of the old vulcano crater. Staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is great. It is very easy to connect to other guests if you want to. They organize various group activities like hikes, games, yoga and language practice sessions. Restaurants and bars are close by at walking distance. There also a few large supermarkets in the vicinity. I stayed in a private room which only has a fan, no AC, but the temperature in the valley is not super warm so the nights were still comfortable with only the fan on. Shared showers, toilets and kitchen were kept clean and well equipped.

The bed was comfortable, room was clean, breakfast was eggs, toast, coffee, and fruit usually. One day she made Venezuelan arepa (flatbread). Lots of help with bus information and places to go. They accommodated a couple special requests. Wonderful back patio with hammocks, special lighting, and seating. Games for children. Highly recommend. Wifi was decent, but may not be up to digital nomad standards. Many restaurants and some grocery stores. May need to text owner you are here since gate is locked (WhatsApp +507 6200‑4371) Tip: If you arrive by bus to Rio Hato and take taxi/small bus to location, you may need to say Posada Acuarela, not Acuarela Hostel.

The food was superb and the prices were very affordable. Breakfast was a typical Panamanian dish with fruits and we were completely satisfied. Dinner was also top notch. We had the shrimp and it was prepared tastily and fingerlicking good. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area. Even though it's not on the beach, it's just a minute away. If you don't like the beach, the property has a small pool where you can bask in the sun. Mr. Miguel was a great host!
