MyCrib Houston Hostel in Houston provides adults-only accommodation with a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. It has been the best hostel I ever stayed. A very clean, cozy, quiet place, comfortable beds with bed lamps and sockets. The staff was nice and helpful, unfortunately, I didn't see them because of my late check-in and short stay, but they always were in contact by phone and left me instructions for self check-in. The breakfast was good and enough for me: bread, butter, preserves, Nutella,cereals, 24/7 coffee and quite big choice of tea. Location, neighborhood is nice and safe, close to my bus stop to Austin. I really felt like at home, besides, we were just 3 guests in the whole hostel.

Located within 14 km of Texas Southern University and 14 km of NRG Stadium, Haystack Hostel features rooms in Houston. The hostel was extremely dirty and poorly located. I had to complete the online check-in twice and never received any confirmation email or the door codes. There were cockroaches on the floor, and the overall cleanliness was unacceptable. The bed was uncomfortable and disgusting. Most of the guests looked like homeless people, and I genuinely felt unsafe during my stay. One positive note: the lady working there was helpful and opened my door in the middle of the night when it accidentally locked after I went to the bathroom. Other than that, it was a terrible experience. This place is not safe, not clean, and definitely not worth the price.
