The windows opened The shower was excellent and we loved the big fluffy bath sheets. Asking for extra tea and coffee etc was invited..

Perfect location for our purposes - learning how to read a map properly, which started 500 metres from The Barrel Inn. There are ample options for walking in the area. All of the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and attentive. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner during our stay and the food at each meal was perfectly cooked, well presented and reasonably priced. The room had everything we needed and the views from the Inn were delightful. All in all, a most enjoyable stay.

The choice of breakfast was very good, and the full cooked breakfast I had was excellent- generous without being over the top. The evening meals were outstanding. The service and friendliness of Glyn, Angela and Carolyn couldn't have been better. There was plenty of parking. The garden, and the part of it which was private for guests, is mlovely, with excellent views over the countryside, to the south. Oh, and the draught Bass beer I had was perfect. Every last pint.

Lovely old building which had been well decorated to a good standard. Excellent food both dinner and breakfast which we really enjoyed. Situated in a small village and we were recommended to walk a few minutes up the hill for the sunset. Fabulous view across the countryside. Friendly helpful staff. Whole operation very professional.

A lovely pub and inn set in a stunning location. All the staff were incredibly attentive, polite and friendly. The room was comfortable and very clean. There were such nice little touches like the fresh milk for tea and coffee in the room, loaned wellies and brollies and locally sourced toiletries in the room. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Both meals were delicious. Would absolutely stay here again, we had no complains at all. 11 out of 10!

Lovely location in idyllic and quiet area allowing full relaxation. Also not far from Chatsworth House so visiting Chatsworth House was easy with short walk and short bus drive. I did not participate in dinner so cannot comment about that but their breakfast is delicious and a lot of fresh groceries comes from own garden and are very tasteful.

This is an exquisite hotel, located near Chatsworth.......you feel like nobility, after visiting Chatsworth and then staying here! It was a superb experience to do both. The hotel is gorgeous and the staff treat you like visiting royalty! We had dinner in the garden room and loved it.
