Breakfast was very delicious, fresh and very rich in every aspect extending from a variety of cheeses to pastries, from hot and cold drinks to eggs and what not. They even offered a glass of champagne to the guests during the breakfast.
The bed was very comfortable, especially if you suffer chronic backache. Pillows were pretty comfy, too. The bathroom had everything one may need, including a bathroom scale as well. Our room (118) was overlooking a very busy square, but double windows prevent the noise coming from outside. There were earplugs, in case you need. While at check in and check out the receptionists were very kind. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who makes plans to visit Prague. I will schedule my next trip to Prague according to availability of rooms at Hotel Rott.

I was very pleased with my stay at Design Hotel Jewel Prague. The staff speaks fluent English and Russian, and I’m sure their language skills go beyond that. We were welcomed with a welcome drink and were shown exactly how to get to our room. What I especially liked is that the building has a luggage elevator — very convenient!
The location of the hotel is excellent — all the main attractions are within walking distance, making it easy and quick to explore the city.
Breakfast was excellent: you could choose a full dish from the restaurant menu, plus one hot and one cold drink. The smoothies were absolutely divine! The dishes in the restaurant were also very tasty and filling. We had an early departure at 5 a.m., and the staff kindly prepared breakfast boxes to go for us, including smoothies.
The restaurant staff provided high-quality service: they were attentive, fast, and professional, and the food was really delicious.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The only minor drawback was noise from the pub in the building opposite, which made it impossible to open the window. However, the air conditioner helped, although it was a bit noisy.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and pleasant stay in Prague!

Old Town Square
This expanse of well-trodden cobbles has been the heart of Prague for centuries. With Christmas Markets in the winter and street bands in the summer, the square is alive with tourists and locals bustling to and fro. Watching over the scenes below are the Old Town Hall tower, the spires of the imposing Týn Church, and the surrounding patchwork of colourful facades.

Where many beautiful historic buildings are.
Where many beautiful historic buildings are. It’s lively and entertaining. The Astronomical Clock is beautiful as well as the Church Lady before Tyn.
Restaurants on square are good but much pricier due to the location.. a drink definitely worth it to take in the views.

Old Town in general is very commercialized.
Old Town in general is very commercialized. Plenty of U.S. chains throughout the area--MacDonalds, KFC, Starbucks etc. Very crowded. Restaurants in this area are not a good deal due to it being geared to tourists. To get an idea of the real Prague where locals hang out, definitely do not expect it in this area. Cross the river into the Mala Strana, and you suddenly see why people actually like Prague so much.

The Old Town Square is fascinating.
The Old Town Square is fascinating. We stayed at The Cube - about 300-500 metres from the square, we stayed 5 days and I could go back for another month and still not see everything. Prague is the most fantastic city. I loved it. So much to see. The food is delicious. People are friendly and fantastic. I walked about 15 km a day, and it felt like nothing. Book some tours with local guides.

Do your research about the buildings & sights around the old town and the square. The astronomical clock is a must, get there about 5 minutes before turn of the hour. We got there at 12pm and the sounds of the bells ringing at the church across the square made for a great video as the 12 apostles come out and move around the clock.

This was one of my favorite places on earth, now absolutely flooded with shallow-minded tourists moving like robots from one selfie spot to another.
Avoid high season and high time. At night, avoid it because of the roving bands of drunk guys in their twenties who think Prague is one big beer hall.
I adore this cultured city. The tourists are wrecking the experience. Come off season and at inconvenient times like early morning to see what we all loved about it. But if history and architecture and sobriety mean nothing to you, please stay away.

Everything was excellent from the moment we arrived till our check-out. The welcoming free ice tea was refreshing after the long journey. The best part is the hotel location which was near the old town square, the astronomical clock, restaurants, shops, and historical sights.
The location was fantastic, right off the Old Town Square. Literally feet away from the Astronomical Clock, and right in the middle of Prague's most vibrant area. The apartment was spacious and had every amenity we could have asked for. A comfortable bed and sofa, spacious bathroom and shower.
