Loved the West Coast hospitality, right from a earlier check to a place to store and charge our e bikes. Hosts were amazing. Perfect spot to spend the night after scampering the Kawatiri Coastal track. Then we cycled back to Westport the next day. Awesome to go return and spend the night in Charlestown

We were very warmly received and had great conversations with Alison and Andre (the host). They provided us with really useful local information and we followed their advice on what to visit the following day. Needless to say, we had a great day. Provided you like nature, this is a fabulous location to witness the sunset and listen to the birds. Overall a great place to stay near Westport.

Charleston Lodge is a little gem. Our room was clean, spacious and really comfortable. The lodge is conveniently located next to Charleston Tavern and Underworld Adventures. Fiona is a wonderful host and we will definitely stay here again.

The lodge had a lovely feel to it. The garden outside our room was beautiful. The room was large with a separate bedroom. The tavern next door was a plus to have dinner. Fiona was super friendly and allowed us to use her clothesline.

The lodge is small and cosy, not many people, and the very fun and friendly owners! Because there are not many guests, the shared kitchen is super tidy and has all neccessary things. The room itself had small kitchenette, so we were able to make ourselves breakfast. The view from the rooms is also great. And it's close to the Underworld Adventures - the must-do activity in Charleston, so we could wake up and just go and enjoy :)

Small lodge, located next to the main road, with the ocean view. Good spot to visit Punakaiki and Westport.

Lodge was very quiet, clean and comfortable. I have been very welcome, and check-in was quick and easy, despite my last minute booking. Location next to the tavern is good as there is not a lot of places to have dinner around (otherwise, I could have done it in the room, everything was available to cook).

Beautiful cottage in a rustic setting. The eco-lodge concept is the real thing — not just a sales pitch!!

Charming Charleston: Our host Fiona could not have been friendlier or more helpful. There are two small but gorgeous bays over the road from the lodge and there's a swimming bay within walking distance. The tavern next door provided tasty food & excellent music. Great to have a separate room in a motel unit and we appreciated the outdoor seating area. Comfy beds and very clean. Great value for money.
