Perfect spot to spend the night after scampering the Kawatiri Coastal track. Then we cycled back to Westport the next day. Awesome to go return and spend the night in Charlestown

They provided us with really useful local information and we followed their advice on what to visit the following day. Needless to say, we had a great day. Provided you like nature, this is a fabulous location to witness the sunset and listen to the birds. Overall a great place to stay near Westport.

Because there are not many guests, the shared kitchen is super tidy and has all neccessary things. The room itself had small kitchenette, so we were able to make ourselves breakfast. The view from the rooms is also great. There are two small but gorgeous bays over the road from the lodge and there's a swimming bay within walking distance. The tavern next door provided tasty food & excellent music.
