We had two wonderful nights at Morokolo. We were pleased to not have to travel too far out of Joburg to a game park. Caitlynn and her staff did everything they could to provide a comfortable stay. Carel was a fount of knowledge on the game drive and we enjoyed his calm nature and sense of humour.

We stayed at Black Rhino Lodge for 3 nights recently and overall had a truly wonderful time. We booked a luxury suite which definitely lived up to the name (other than super firm mattresses which aren't to everyone's tastes I know). The communal lodge areas are decorated beautifully and looked after really well by the team. The outdoor lounge area is especially lovely when it's sunny and warm outside, and the fireplace inside is perfect for cold weather. Our game driver, Dolfie, was a lot of fun and super knowledgeable, sharing lots of interesting information with us every time we drove out with him. We all saw the animals we wanted to see most and had a great time on every drive. I do have to warn people that the morning drive can be up to 5-6 hours long which is double the length of the game drives I've been on at other reserves / lodges. Some people might love this but I did find it to be a bit too much, especially on very cold winter mornings! The sunset drives are amazing, never longer than 3-4 hours and include lovely sundowner drinks and snacks. The food at the lodge was very good for the most part - breakfast / brunch and dinner were consistently really excellent and I cannot fault anything I was served (and I'm a chef by profession). On one night we ate outdoors in the 'boma' area which was a really unique and lovely experience. The fire kept us warm and the food was absolutely delicious - traditional South African braai (BBQ) meats, curries and all sorts of side dishes. Plus a few delicious dessert options. Finally, everyone who works at this lodge is absolutely delightful. So warm and friendly and willing to do whatever they can to help you and make your stay enjoyable! I'd definitely return if they changed the afternoon meal setup and will still recommend this lodge to others regardless. Really a very special place!!

On our arrival, apart from the lovely welcome, the staff arranged a wonderful cheese platter for us that we enjoyed while overlooking the watering hole. In general the staff were so friendly, always with a smile and really bent over backwards to make us happy. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the patio perfect for our alfresco massages. A beautiful lodge that just needs to sort out the details.

Love the bush views from the stoep bed and tub. Food is as excellent as ever. Staff cannot be more than accommodating. Being partially disabled the extra length the staff went to accommodate my needs was exceptional. All in all will be back for my fourth stay at either ivory or shepherds lodges. Once again. Thank you for my short breaks unforgettable 🐾🙏

The experience at the hotel was amazing. They asked us in advance what we would like to eat and if we had any dietary restrictions! The hotel's breakfast is incredible with many options. I would like to mention our safari experience at the Game Lodge; we had two guides, Sibu and Helen, both very knowledgeable and skilled. They showed special attention to my pregnant wife.

An overall great experience with extremely friendly staff. Nice food mostly served at the table which added to the exclusive experience of the place. Really well equipped cabins with outdoor showers. My son very impressed with the wifi even if our cabin was located quite far away from the main building. Last but not least mostly great safari drives. We managed to get on five fine drives in total during our stay. Didn't get to see all of the big five though. But still an amazing experience for us being first time on a safari lodge.

Lush Private Game Lodge is simply stunning, the location, facilities and interior design are flawless. The staff are incredibly welcoming, polite and friendly, always putting guests first. You really do feel special. The game rides out are brilliant and the rangers are great, so knowledgeable and make the whole experience worth while. I would highly recommend this venue for people looking for that luxury experience for a safari break.

I am very happy that I linked a businesstrip to Johannesburg with a weekend stay at the game lodge. Very nice and comfortable acommodation. Good facilities and great safaris. Going out before 5 in the morning seeing the wildlife was just amazing. The afternoon drives was also very nice. Very good meals at the lodge with a view to a waterhole.

The lodge is great and the food on offer was really good with good variety of choice for all meals. The room was big and really comfortable and in warmer months the balcony and the outdoor shower would have been firm favourites. The game drives were a bonus as when I booked I hadn't actually expected them to be included as have stayed in other lodges here where they were an optional extra. The guides were great and even as frequent safari taker they had facts and information about the animals that were new to me which was really good.
