Quetzal Dorado Eco-Lodge by Mareygua is located in Los Naranjos, only 1.5 km away from the entrance of Tayrona National Park in El Zaino. The property is an eco-friendly hostel that offers private rustic rooms with balcony and bathroom. Facilities were very clean and beautiful view. Staff was very helpful and the pool/games area was very nice.

Located in Buritaca, Finca La Selvita Chocolate experience provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a restaurant.

The lodge offers a continental or American breakfast. Polo has clearly built and handpicked everything in this finca with so much love and dedication. Located deep in the jungle, it offers a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature, with only sounds of the wildlife and a river nearby for a refreshing dip (and weirdly, the WiFi was still one of the fastest I’ve used in Colombia). The food is simply outstanding - the best I’ve had in months of traveling South America. Alvaro, the chef, mostly uses ingredients from the finca’s own farm, creating delicious, well-balanced, and creative dishes. The chocolate tour is a must—easily the best chocolate I’ve had in South America. Everything here feels real, organic, and unforgettable!

The lodge offers a hot tub. Stayed here for 3 nights and it was superb! The location and the views are stunning and the ‘nest’ was very bright and cosy with a great big glass window to enjoy the view. We had all food made for us and it was truly delicious made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Daniel was incredibly kind and helpful with everything, including last minute requests. Thanks for a fantastic few days!

À la carte and American breakfast options are available at the lodge. I’m writing this for the benefit of those who are thinking about booking and reading posts that seem to comment without understanding what Wachakyta is about. It scored 10 because the whole experience was brilliant. Where else in the world can you spend the night on a deserted beach, with a chef, a bar, unlimited water, coffee tea etc etc? There is also free wifi (which didn’t always work when you were away from the main area). But you have to realise you are in a beach hut. You’ll get critters, wind, the sound of the sea and everything nature has. Sure, you’ll also have a comfortable bed, good quality sheets (and a mozzie net) so it’s not without some creature comforts. The prices charged for food and drink were perfectly fine given everything (including you!!) has to be delivered by boat. And the food is cooked to order… they will come to find you about two hours before lunch or dinner and you make your selection and choose the time. The boat, by the way, is a separate business but you’ll get details on how to book and as someone who speaks only a little Spanish, the whole process was done by what’s app. They picked us up at 4.20 on the Wednesday exactly as promised. And that, my friends, is our summary. This is a get away from the world place. Enjoy nature, wildlife, the sun, the stars and escape.

Santa Marta Cathedral is 22 km from the lodge, while Simon Bolivar Park is 22 km from the property. Simón Bolívar International Airport is 29 km away, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. Location is amazing. Right in the middle of the nature! The family that runs the place is so kind in helpful. I had my foot injured and they offered to help me with my luggage (which was huge by the way). You feel that you are part of family there, they explain a lot of things about wildlife and plants, even they have a natural pool & jacuzzi ...if ypu go there it worth to give a try. The road until you reach the reception is so beautiful..really liked the bamboo bridge! They can help with organising tour (don't miss the birding tour in Minca)...also they organised my shuttle to the airport and everything went so smoothly. Thank you so much for a delicious breakfast and all the experiente that you offer for each person that stays at Minca Glamping. Definitely a place where I would like to come back. Feliz Navidad!

Boasting a swimming pool, a garden, a terrace and views of the mountain, Hierba Buena Eco Hostel is situated in El Zaino and features accommodation with free WiFi.

A continental breakfast is available at the lodge. The room we stayed in was beautiful. The place is nice and chilled. The staff was very helpful and kind, they told us great tips for routes and places to get food. The whole place is very cute having a nice swimming pool, beautiful garden and very intimate and not at all crowded natural pools in a river 5min up the path. There is a restaurant next door, called doña Marta, which is a must. Local economic authentic food. Easy to get there with public transport. In conclusion, although it is a 10 min walk from the main road, it was definitely worth taking the time to find the place.
