Our hosts Bernie and Marie did an excellent job at making us feel welcome to their home. It’s in a perfect position close to restaurants and hikes and the base of the ski fields. Bernie made us a delicious hot breakfast before we left.

Plateau Lodge is located 15 minutes’ drive from UNESCO World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park, where guests can enjoy skiing, hiking, cycling and paddling activities. A daily, shuttle service is available hourly from 6:00 until 9:00 to the Tongariro Crossing & National park. Free parking is available. I like the location close to the Mt. Ruapehu and the place is clean. Highly recommended.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and comfy, very nice aesthetic overall.

Turoa is 22 km from the lodge. Whanganui Airport is 107 km from the property. I loved the view very quiet place it was great. However there was no milk or tea in placed usually other places they put chamomile or something like that ❤️ apart from it everything was great.
