White Heron Motor Lodge is just 2 minutes' drive from the centre of Gisborne and 7 minutes' drive from the beach and the airport. How close it was to everything. It was so modern and like a home away from home.

I received a free room upgrade upon check-in which I really appreciated. The new room was very spacious and super convenient; I especially liked the big desk I could use for some computer work. For me as a surfer it was also great to have a little backyard/garden area so I could hang up my wetsuits. The kitchenette was well equipped and spacious as well. Laundry facilities are available for guests to use 24/7 free of charge; you can watch movies à gogo with the Sky channels, and the wifi is fast and reliable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I was sad to leave after three nights and will definitely be back.

Staff were friendly and allowed us parking with a trailer in their large parking area. Clean and quiet room. Restaurant next door looks good but didn't try. Definitely reccomend BKs to anyone staying in Gisborne.

Waikanae Beach Motel is located in Gisborne city centre. The motel is situated directly across the road from beautiful Waikanae Beach and the Boardwalk. Handy location to the beach and local cafe for morning coffee and evening takeaways. Very high standard of cleanliness and friendly staff. Quiet and safe location.
