Ocean Beach Motel offers comfortable accommodation in Wainui Beach, just 5 minutes’ drive from the Gisborne city centre. We did not have any breakfast as we left very early, but the host was a very charming lady whom we loved instantly. She made our very short stay extremely comfortable.

Captain Cook Motor Lodge offers modern ground-floor studios and apartments with free Wi-Fi access. Free on-site parking is available. All rooms offer a TV with over 50 cable channels. I received a free room upgrade upon check-in which I really appreciated. The new room was very spacious and super convenient; I especially liked the big desk I could use for some computer work. For me as a surfer it was also great to have a little backyard/garden area so I could hang up my wetsuits. The kitchenette was well equipped and spacious as well. Laundry facilities are available for guests to use 24/7 free of charge; you can watch movies à gogo with the Sky channels, and the wifi is fast and reliable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I was sad to leave after three nights and will definitely be back.
