What a gem of an apartment, close to the river with a lovely view of it from the dining and bedrooms. Using the back gate to the station platform was easy, use a torch in the dark to see combination lock though. Rooms super clean and all facilities available. If you go out the door remember to take the key with you as like me you will get locked out! Would i return to the apartment, a big Yes.

    Excellent self-catering base to explore both the nature and the nearby towns and cities. Very clean, very nice hosts. Ideal by car, but there is also local bus on the doorstep thus it is reachable also by public transport.

    Really nice cabin. A lot of space, very well equipped. Nearby excellent hiking trails, even one passing by at the front door. Prior to arrival we were very well updated / informed by the owner.

    Quite, village inn at the side of the road. An excellent spot to start exploring Sächsische Schweiz. If you dont mind walking an extra mile, then much less crowded than Rathewalde or Rathen itself. A roundtrip on foot to Bastei bridge and Wehlen was about 25 km. The exceptionally spacious family suite is located in the attic and accessed over somewhat steep and creaky stairs. That might be a problem if one has mobility issues or wishes to sneak out at the middle of night - whole house will know,

    The location is on the "Malerweg" and I highly recommend this old, refurbished castle for a comfortable place to stay in. The breakfast was included in the price and it was all you can eat.
