This apartment was a wonderful base for our all too brief 3 night stay. The apartment is large, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Plus it had a balcony! The location on a quiet street overlooking the park but just steps away from the centre of town and the Kirnitzschtalbahn is hard to beat. Communications with the host were friendly and helpful.

The location is very convenient for both the city center and the railway station.

Featuring a garden and views of mountain, Schöna Urlaub is an apartment situated in a historic building in Schöna, 16 km from Königstein Fortress. fantastic apartment in a converted old bakery. the rooms where lovely refurbished with lots of wood. we were living in "the big" one. the hosts were very helpful, if wished you can get breakfast or only bread rolls from the close by restaurant/hotel they also operate. the area is absolutely stunning. we even had next to it a very small village shop which though is only open on certain days of the week. there is though a vending machine with essentials close by. several restaurants in walking distance. There is a washing machine and a dryer in a seperate area which can be used by all guests staying in the old bakery.

Bergoase Panorama-Apartments offers a sauna and free private parking, and is within 13 km of Saxon Switzerland National Park and 14 km of Königstein Fortress. After arriving on the night train and riding up into the hills on hired mountain bikes to get here, we were able to check in early which was a blessed relief! (Note - The route that Google maps gave us on our bikes went off-road, and we had to walk part of the way uphill as it was too steep to ride the mountain trail, especially with our backpacks. You can also catch a local bus to the village to get here). The apartment was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The kids spent most of their time outside roaming up the hiking paths or riding their bikes up and down the hilly streets in the quiet village. This accommodation is on the edge of the village near the top of a hill and the view is lovely out towards the forests and mountains. We came in early spring and the trees were just starting to green up so I can see it would be even more spectacular in late spring and through summer and autumn. There were probably a dozen or so campers at all stages of life using the grounds with their tents and vans, as well as others staying in apartments, and it was peaceful with a feeling of camaraderie, no loud voices or music, just people chilling and a few kids roaming around doing kid stuff. This village and accommodation was a big contrast to Bad Schandau, which was literally crawling with cars and tourists (we were there over the Easter long weekend), and we were so glad we had not stayed in town but on this calming and chill mountainside.
