The hotel exceeded our expectations in that it felt like a resort. The reception staff were very helpful, kind, and patient as we did not speak much Spanish. The breakfast was good, and we enjoyed the spa. The location was gorgeous and a walk away from El Penol.

resort style and service was exceptional

We are delighted we discovered Sotavento Cabanas. it is a true gem of a small resort. It is set outside the town of Guatape, but an easy 10 minute ride by tuk tuk to the activity, giving you the very best of both worlds. We were in coral cabin, which was on the second floor. The view of the water with the great rock in close distance was wondrous. It seemed that all the cabins had excellent views. We had dinner there two nights, both were first rate and reasonable. Included a lovely breakfast served on your balcony, which never disappointed.

Luxury hotel for the price that you wount find anywhere else in the world

gorgeous location overlooking an arm of the lake. all bungalows enjoy complete privacy. the staff has been lovely and attentive. we felt welcome from the first second, and so did our dog. the food is excellent. you could stay all day enjoying the view from the terrace. at night we used the whirlpool and sat at fire pit. the smart speaker was great to have for music. the whole resort is beautifully designed, the bed super comfortable. certainly one of the best hotels I stayed it.

The staff was the best, friendly, helpful and always with a smile. Colombian breakfast was good with an excellent view of the lake. The resort is decorated colorful and is located right next to the most important tourist attraction of the stone of el peñol.
