It's a family-owned resort, stand right by the beach. Iwan, the manager of the resort, picked us up from the airport. He speaks English well and very friendly. So upon our arrival till departure, all the staffs there, Iwan, Orfi and Angel, were so helpful and tried to make our stay convenient, and to this, we may say they did a super job. 👏👏👏

But when we arrive, we are greeted with such amazing view! Nice property, secluded and tranquil. We are facilitated with full service, and our children comfort is well taken care off. They are super happy because they can harvested their own vegetable to table. They are building new properties, single unit villas with their own private pools and facilities. Perfect for future romantic escape. Not to forget to mention their exceptional restaurant, Umanga'a. We have a top notch dinning experience celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. We would love to going back to Umarato in our future holiday.

The food was delicious and service was exceptional. After 3 days we felt very at home :) we visited the nearby beaches - stunning white sand. We did a tour of the village which was very informative and we loved seeing the local life. Eka was our guide, along with Dini, and both were amazing to spend the day with, we loved their sharing of Sumba knowledge and history. We even forgot something when we left and they drove it to us. This was not only lovely accommodation but a super enriching experience that we will never forget. Thank you!

Everything was perfect, fantastic facilities, staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the beach is possibly one of the most beautiful in SEA, perfect conditions for surfing, the food is delicious, even a doctor on site who could help out our son immediately when he felt a little funny.

Photos really don't do the place justice, you have to be there to fully experience the magic! The location was absolutely stunning, we felt like we were at the edge of the world. Our villa overlooking the ocean was hands down the best place we stayed in during our trip to Indonesia; the private pool was such a luxury, and the room was tastefully decorated and comfortable. It was so special to see dolphins from our room every day! The staff were extremely friendly, professional, and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make sure we had the best stay; we felt very safe with our excellent driver Rudy, the general manager Bagus personally picked us up from the airport, Wanto took amazing photos of our sunrise horse-riding experience, and Colin was always ready to greet us with a smile and interesting facts about Sumba. We had zero communication difficulties during our stay. The food was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from; we enjoyed both room service (particularly for breakfast) and also eating in the main dining area. We were able to fully appreciate Sumba's natural beauty and cultural significance in a short period of time (3 days) through the day trips organised by the resort, which were private and fully personalised; the staff were extremely flexible, and tailored the tours according to our interests and schedules. We couldn't have asked for a better stay on this unique island!

Amazing location with great views in a very peaceful environment. The staff is incredibly friendly and genuine. Ven, Gustav, Kris, Uni, and Edward were all very kind to us.

The location is far from anything but that's what special about this place. Blondine and Laurent were always at their best to serve us, especially with all the delicious meals. The concept of eco living and resort really amazed us as it's what shaping their resort.
