We stayed one night. Amazing Sri Lankan hospitality. There’s a naturalist on hand to answer questions. And we so enjoyed the night walk. 5 loris spotted!!! And a mouse deer. We stayed in the quadruple treehouse with our older girls. Such a great experience. Super restful. Super close to/ in nature. Thank you.

This should go without saying but you’re sharing the treehouse with nature - we had a couple of alarming (but in retrospect, hilarious) encounters with nature that did sort of make us feel by the time we left that we were looking forward to a hotel with walls. But that really was just part of the experience we’d signed up for.

We had a very cool experience staying in the treehouse for 2 nights. The treehouse itself is clean and comfortable, the outdoor shower is lovely and listening to the jungle at night was delightful. One night we watched fireflies just above our beds - a pretty unique experience. The staff were very friendly and organised a loris watching walk for us, which was also an amazing experience. The hotel is a little out of the way from the Sigiriya restaurants but it’s a 10 minute tuk tuk journey so all in all I think it was worth it.

Back of Beyond in Sigiriya is a unique hidden gem! The staff are incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make my experience special. Indu was super helpful, always willing to lend a hand, and genuinely enthusiastic about ensuring I had a great time. The food was delicious flavors and generous portions. If you're looking for a warm welcome and top-notch service, look no further than Back of Beyond. Highly recommended! Its a short walk to Pidurangala.

This has nothing to do with the property, but if you go, don’t believe the tuktuk driver is they want to take you to an herb garden. It is a scam.

The cabin was very spacious and well decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They granted every wish i had. The food was amazing. The location was perfect for visiting the two famous rocks and go on a safari.

Not many negatived however we were offered a nightime walk through the surrounding jungle to spot some Lorris, however we weren‘t made aware before hand it was $40, and when provided with a bill we mentioned this to the staff who‘s response was ”we thought you don‘t care about money“ which was a bit cheeky. So just remeber to ask for prices!

We stayed in a treehouse at Back of Beyond near Sigiriya Rock, and it was an absolutely fabulous experience. Falling asleep and waking up in the middle of nature was truly unique and unforgettable. The location is excellent – peaceful, yet close to the main attractions. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful, and the food was delicious. A wonderful place to unwind and connect with nature.

Nothing - would’ve stayed another night if we could

Wonderful location within walking distance of Trailhead to Pidurangala Rock. The tree houses are amazing and really make you feel like you are embedded within nature. Kids enjoyed roaming the grounds and playing on the suspended nets. Dinner and breakfast were great and served by a very friendly member of Staff. Fun to see monkeys and fireflies visiting our “room”.

Perfect location for visiting Pidurangala Rock. You can walk to the trail-head in 5 minutes. But be careful in the morning. It is advised to use a Tucktuck because of the elephants in the area. In the evening we were fine though. The room was great and thanks to the tree cover it was not too hot. In the evening it was cool enough for sleeping. A large fan provided the necessary breeze in the afternoon. The breakfast was very good and we also had dinner twice, which I can recommend.

Amazing jungle location - I walked in the adjoining jungle and found wild elephant dung within 100m, so be cautious about walking in the jungle at dusk (and definitely not at night). Great bird life and peace, a nice walk through some jungle to a nearby temple, and then a short way on the road to the famous Pidurangala rock. The staff, under the exceptional Dhammika, are all professional, friendly and knowledeable. I missed the opportunity to stay in a tree-house, which would have been an even more unforgetable experience. Only had breakfast, which was a pity, since the food was very good. Thank you very much for a great stay. Look forward to visiting again.

The road to access is Bumba. And it is a little far away from town, so you have to get a tuktuk to go into Sigirya. We had no warm water. I found it a little on the expensive side, comparing it to other special places we stayed at.

Beautiful tree house. Nice and comfortable beds. A cool experience to sleep with no walls. The musquitonets were very good. I did not worry about animals or mosquitos getting in our beds. Service was great.

The lack of phone reception can make it difficult to arrange transport but the staff were very helpful with this.

Amazing jungle location, a rustic treehouse, which was exactly what we hoped for. An ecological site that merges with its jungle surroundings, not a 5* hotel. The staff were very helpful and the food was fantastic. We also had a surprise at breakfast when an elephant crashed by!! The wildlife we saw included monkeys, chipmunks, a giant squirrel and on a late night tour we managed to spot several Slender Lorises. We also love the sounds of the jungle and being woken by the many birds singing the dawn chorus.

It is exactly what it says - offering a real experience of a night in the jungle. Friendly staff, offering simple but good quality Sri Lankan dinner at a very reasonable price. An added bonus is that it is only 5 minutes walk from the entrance to Pidurangala Rock, which is a ‘must’.

The price is very high and they will surplus charge you with a high convertable rate, service charge ánd 3% card payment. No other hotel we've stayed at would do this with this amount of money. There are other really cool places to stay within Sigiriya. I'm not sure this high rate is really worth it.

The treehouse is very special. You are just surrounded by nature. The mosquitonet is very comfortable and gives you the feeling of laying in a cocoon in the middle of the jungle!
