You could walk to the ski field but no need to- there is a hotel shuttle you can arrange daily to take you and pick you up at day’s end (reliable and punctual). You can use the guests onsen or a private one - there is one for two people and another that can accommodate four people. Small selection of western food available. Dinners are sensational; a rotation between Sukiyaki, Bbq and Shabu Shabu. All delicious in their own way. Accomodation is 3 star and comfortable enough. There are private and public onsens - the public ones are, perhaps, slightly small. Location to Appi Kogen is perfect - a two minute drive at most, even in foul weather. From the amazing large bedroom with comfortable bed and pillows, walk in robes to the excellent bathroom. The onsen had many choices with a sauna as well so best way to relax post a ski day. The ski concierge made things so easy from buying the tickets to keeping boots warm at night.
