Very nice ryokan next to a river. Every meal was large and delicious. Rooms were large and the 4 private onsens were nice. Some nice walking paths and bridges around the ryokan. Great value!

We visited the LOQUAT villa in May 2025.
- A+ service from all of the staff from booking until checkout (shoutout to Amy).
- Delicious food
- Stunning views and gorgeous property (we stayed at the villa), beautiful location.
All of the staff were prompt, polite, and helpful. Amy Akari (sp?) was our host throughout the stay and was incredible, and extremely patient with us speaking very little Japanese. She made sure we had everything we needed from check-in to check-out and we were not left wanting. Thanks for helping create a memorable experience for us Amy.
For travel - coming from Tokyo, you do not have train access all the way to it. We did not rent a car, so we needed to take a train from Tokyo -> Mishima, and then a taxi from there to the hotel. The staff helped with booking a taxi to and from Mishima and everything worked out perfect. We even had them help book a taxi to and from a local destination near the hotel and that was great as well.
The villa is as beautiful as it looks in the photos. The pictures don't do the view justice though. Gorgeous forested mountains in the backdrop with a ton of green just outside. A small waterfall just outside of the house for the most relaxing white noise. Very comfy and the onsen was great.
Lastly, the meals were delicious. The coursed out dinner was phenomenal, and breakfast was very tasty. They have an attached gelato shop and bakery as well, and both were also great. Smooth and fresh gelato, and as someone who smashes puff pastry on the regular - their bakery is legit. They provided a bunch of gelato free of charge in the room's freezer as well as a complimentary bag of pastries on our way out, very nice touch.
Would 100% do it again.

The service was absolutely fantastic. Our host took the time to show us the room and explain in detail how the bathing facilities work. There is a public onsen (male and female) and 3 private onsens you can book for an extra cost. Even though there was a language barrier, they made the effort to use Google Translate to make sure we understood everything. The ryokan is accessible by a ~10 minute walk from the bus stop. The facilities are beautiful and extremely clean. This ryokan was one of the highlights of our trip. We chose breakfast, which tasted amazing.

The location and the rooms were amazing! I loved getting to hear the river sound and see nature right out of the window. The staff was really helpful - he made recommendations on what to do!
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.

Very nice and big lobby facing the sea. Onsen view was awesome. Free karaoke and games facilities.
We have gotten a private onsen in room, and it was an amazing experience! I love how the hotel is situated deep in the forests—the place is peaceful with a view of mount fuji from the room. The room is huge and beautifully furnished with a small tatami room and balcony overlooking the mountains. The haoris and yukatas provided are comfortable along with all the hotel ammenities. There is regular free shuttle to the station, which is very helpful.
Beautiful house in rural location. A large traditional breakfast with many dishes. Very kind and friendly host. Small but clean and attractive onsen. Perfect.
This histel thought about everything, there is a free onsen, rooftop, comfortable beds (kind od futons), a lot of recommendations available and super friendly staff. You can also wahs your clothes for free!
One of the highlights of our accommodation was the private hot spring. The rooms adorned with tatami mats were exceptionally beautiful. The entire house was so beautiful and we thorough enjoyed every moment of our stay.
Thank you so much!
This is an authentic Ryokan and Onsen. The staff are exceptionally helpful and traditional in every way. The food is phenomenal (incl. Japanese style breakfast).
This was a beautiful and relaxing retreat.
The hotel staff was super nice and helpful. One of my friends forgot his ear-pods in the room and we had left Izu. The hotel staff quickly helped to send the ear-pods to our new hotel. Good view at the mountain and the stream from the room window. 4 private onsens for reservation and 1 public one. The futons are comfortable for sleep. The traditional Yukata was offered during the stay.
A wonderful stay with comfortable futon beds, private balconies overlooking the peaceful river, and a beautifully designed ryokan with modern Japanese interiors. The two onsen baths onsite are a great way to relax after a long day, and be sure to try the delicious home-cooked Japanese breakfast offered by the kind hostess! Could not recommend this stay more highly!
-location is right in the centre of the town.
-reasonably comfortable bedding and facilities
- has a onsen/hot spring
- historical and traditional styled rooms
-relatively cheap
- map of all the food places given upon arrival as the place is not equipped to serve food. Had closing time and cuisine.
- Yukata and bath towel provided.
- heating was adequate and I was not cold at all during the night
Loved the super large family room. Lovely tatami rooms with futons. Indeed a bit old furniture, but still very nice and spacious.
Very nice onsen.
With the kids we also had fun playing badminton, ping-pong and basketball. All free of charge.
Very nice experience for all at a very reasonable price.
