This onsen hotel is aimed at the local market, but they are extremely welcoming to the occasional foreign visitor. The hotel is impeccably kept. Meals are superb, and the spa facilities are idyllic. Nearby thousand-year-old Buddhist temple under towering trees is a top sight.

Good Japanese style accommodation. Wasn't expecting to sleep on mattresses on the floor but it was all a good Japanese experience. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great japanese style room, with futons, very spacious and comfortable. Friendly staff, open to our request to arrive a bit later as we were walking the Nakasendo Trail and depended on specific train schedules. There was a small onsen, which was very good after a day of walking. The japanese style breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Had an amazing stay. The staff were all exceptional and welcoming. The traditional japanese breakfast and dinner were the best we had in japan. The Onsen was beautiful.
Wonderfull view over the mountains. Lovely outdoor onsen. Excellent breakfast. With the curtains closed, the room stays realy dark, it made it a good night sleep.
