When we arrived at the ryokan it was snowing and cold in Matsumoto. Our host immediately gave us towels and helped us feel welcome. She showed us around the ryokan. It was clean, warm, comfortable. The beds were like sleeping on clouds. The rooms were clean and it was wonderful sleeping in a traditional Japanese house. The shower was hot and powerful. The ryokan is located on a pretty road (Nakamachi Dori) with lots of interesting shops and restaurants. One of our favourite stays on this trip.

Nastanitev Takimi Onsen Inn that only accepts one group per day je v mestu Nagiso, 9,1 km od znamenitosti Otsumago, in ponuja pogled na gore. Everything. Keiko San and his wife are very kind and friendly hosts, the food they prepare is delicious, the property is delightfully characterful with private onsen facilities, and in a magical forest setting looking on to its own waterfall. Keiko San very kindly picked us up from Nagiso station (and dropped us back there when we left), and took us to Magome and back from Tsumago on the day we walked the Nakasendo trail. He and his wife are great hosts.

They went over and beyond when addressing our requests. The hotel owner even followed us all the way to the convenience store after we had checked out just to give us additional information about our transportation to our next destination.

Located in the heart of Nozawa Onsen, Tanuki offers guests a traditional accommodation with Japanese-style rooms that feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring. Outstanding location, apartment and wonderful staff. The coffee and food in the downstairs cafe is very very good. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved being in nature - Nagano is so beautiful and this location was a very special place to rest relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The staff are so warm and friendly and the food was incredible - you will not go hungry at this hotel! We loved the care that the staff put into each meal and every detail of the space. We also loved the Onsen experience and found the facility to be very clean and easy to use. Our rooms were very clean and spacious, comfortable and enjoyable. We loved our visit and hope to return!
