Despite the faded victoriana grandeur we had a good stay. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Comfy bed and warm hotel. The hotel is massive and a real jewel, but does require some maintenance. But it was lovely nevertheless. Great views...

Great location, lovely food, very friendly helpful staff, rooms were a little dated and our room had a garden/wooded area view not much to look at until we saw a deer grazing - that was unexpected and a bonus

Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly, apart from the receptionist who was rather brusque. She gave the impression that she found customer interaction an unpleasant task. Not a great introduction to the hotel.
