Our host Sara was very nice to make us feel welcome. The hotel has a beautiful view to the lake and to the Fuji and is easily accessible from the station by foot or the complementary shuttle service.

Very friendly staff. Excellent onsen and Kaiseki meal experience in a cozy boutique hotel. Kids enjoy our stay very much.

Guests at Jizokan Matsuya Ryokan stay in rooms with shoji paper screens and traditional futon bedding. All rooms are air-conditioned and include a TV and slippers. If I could give 100 stars to this ryokan, I would do it! It was absolutely stunning experience in Nagano, the whole family and staff are extremely friendly, kind and polite. They receive lots of international travelers and they understand tourists needs. You MUST book dinners and breakfasts with them! It was amazing experience! On a practical note: rooms were authentic, hot water, heater were reliable. Location is superb, close to the temple and delicious snacks. This place is ideal for alternative travelers interested in local tradition and with the appreciation for culture and history: I wish the owners only the best customers!

The ryokan features family rooms. Unique experience. Top notch accomodation. Everything was great, including food, service, furnishing and the private bath. Every little detail is perfected here and it all culiminates in an absolutely unforgettable expirience. If you want to feel luxurious, here you definitely will.

The food is delicious, probably the best I ate in Japan. The staff is very nice.
